Our extensive years of experience in designing, constructing and managing refrigeration systems in Western Canada including facilities such as City of Calgary's Great Plains Recreational Facility, Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge and Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton. We continue to explore new technologies and solutions in delivering refrigeration systems that are safe, reliable, energy-efficient, and align with sustainable practices through the integration of high-efficiency & low inventory designs.

Scotia Place
With completion anticipated for 2027, Thermocarb is working in partnership with a team of engineering firms in developing a high-performance ammonia refrigeration plant and ice floor system for this new NHL facility.
Under Construction
Clare Drake Arena
Thermocarb is currently involved in the refrigeration system upgrade design including cold floor and underfloor heating piping at the University of Alberta’s Clare Drake Arena.
2025
Heavy Metal Place
This recently completed project features an innovative ultra-low-charge ammonia refrigeration plant housed in a stand-alone Class T skidded building serving two NHL-sized ice surfaces.
2023
Castlegar & District Recreation Complex
Completed in 2023, this project included replacement of the existing arena slab with a new cold floor system.
